Seafood Cooking Tips
True Cod is an easy, all-purpose white fish:
- Sauté – Pan-sear fillets in a little oil or butter; finish with lemon and herbs.
- Broil or Bake – Cook in a hot oven or under the broiler with olive oil, garlic, and breadcrumbs or vegetables.
- Fry – Batter or bread and fry for classic fish and chips.
- Soups & Stews – Add chunks to stews, chowders, or curries; the firm flakes hold together nicely.
- Salt & cure – Can be lightly salted or used in traditional salted-cod style preparations.
Avoid overcooking—pull the fish off the heat when it turns opaque and just starts to flake.
