Sustainability Consideration:
Striped Sea Bass populations are now at record levels, thanks to conservation measures and fishing regulations that helped the species recover from heavy habitat damage and overfishing that peaked in the 1970s. Managed harvest and habitat protection remain key to keeping Striper a long-term success story.

Flavor & Texture:
Sweet, rich flavor with a succulent, firm, meaty texture. Striper is substantial enough for bold flavors and high-heat cooking, but refined enough for more delicate preparations.

Seafood Cooking Tips
Striped Sea Bass is versatile and forgiving, and works with many classic techniques:
- Grill – Excellent as fillets or steaks over medium-high heat; brush with oil, season well, and don’t overcook.
- Sauté / pan-sear – Crisp the skin and finish with butter, citrus, or herb sauces.
- Bake in salt – Whole fish baked in a salt crust stays moist and gently seasoned.
- Roast – Whole or portioned with olive oil, garlic, and vegetables.
- Poach – Gently simmer in aromatic stock, olive oil, or court-bouillon for very tender results.
As with other premium white fish, pull it from the heat as soon as the flesh turns opaque and flakes easily with gentle pressure so it stays juicy.
